All About AutoInsurance.com

Our Mission

AutoInsurance.com was created to help consumers find the right auto insurance policies at fair prices. AntoInsurance.com was founded in 2000, and over the last 22 years, we’ve helped tens of millions Americans find better auto insurance plans.

We built this site on the belief that everything you think you know about auto insurance is likely wrong. Reliable information on topics like pricing, laws, and regulation is hard to find — often locked inside industry and government databases or hidden behind smiley commercials. It’s nearly impossible to determine what to pay for auto insurance or what a good deal even looks like. And while a reliable agent can answer your questions, finding one can be time-consuming.

What about help from the government? While insurance companies don’t have to disclose their prices to the public, they do have to submit them to the government, but good luck finding them online — or elsewhere.

We’re here to help. AutoInsurance.com is dedicated to showing you the facts about how car insurance works and allowing you to shop the entire market with the click of a button. We created the largest data set of rates based on information from over two million real auto insurance customers to help you make fact-based decisions with information that the insurance industry and lawmakers don’t want you to know.

Our Story

The inspiration for AutoInsurance.com came from our personal experiences of shopping for auto insurance. Googling “auto insurance” returned search results for a bunch of provider websites, all slick marketing and advertising designed to get you signed up.

One of our founders was shocked to find out he was almost uninsurable after years of living in a city without a car. The only way for him to drive legally was to pay exorbitant premiums for a low-quality provider. Another founder had her policy canceled after two small fender benders, with no notification from her provider. Is that even legal? At the very least, it doesn’t seem fair, and attempting to decipher our state’s car insurance requirements and laws meant decoding complicated legal text on state statutes — not exactly accessible.

We knew we weren’t the only people shopping blindly and getting frustrated. Every day, people pay inflated premiums for subpar coverage, and the worst part is that they’re not even aware of how much money they can save.

Agent Network, Massive Database, Insider Knowledge

We work with over 3,000 local agents nationwide and our set of data comes from millions of real auto insurance calls. We use these assets to help you learn about everything that goes into your auto insurance policy, from where you live and what you drive to your driving and credit histories.

Once you’ve found the information you need to move forward, we’ll connect you with the policy and provider that’s right for you. While we make money from these interactions with our partners, it’s at no cost to you.

We want you to learn all of the options and intricacies so you can make good choices about your auto insurance coverage. From doing your initial research to signing on the dotted line, we’ll be with you every step of the way — to help you find the coverage you need, weed out what you don’t need, and guide you on what you should really be paying for.

Finding the Right Policy for You

First and foremost, you want insurance that works for you, and you don’t want to overpay. Maybe you have been in car accidents and aren’t sure how that’ll affect your monthly premiums. Maybe you just moved states and are wondering if you can get a discount. Or maybe you are a first-time driver and don’t even know what a deductible is. How do you get a good deal on auto insurance while staying protected?

Our local agents’ years of experience and knowledge will guide you through the process with real-time data from thousands of localities across the country. No matter which state you’re in or what group you fall under — teens, veterans, classic car drivers, and more — we’ll connect you with information that lifts the veil on auto insurance pricing and helps you protect yourself, your family, and your car with the best auto insurance on the market.
